Spyderco - Sage 5 - Cobalt Blue - G10 SPY27

Spyderco's Sage Series was created to highlight folding knife locking mechanisms and their inventors.

One of its most successful members, the Sage 5, highlights Spyderco's own innovative the Compression-Lock. This is a locking mechanism on the back of the knife. It works by clamping part of the liner onto the back of the blade this will keep the knife in the open position.

The Sage is equipped with a blade made of CPM SPY27. This steel is specially developed for Spyderco by Crucible and was introduced to the market on 15-01-2020, this steel has all the properties you would want: high wear resistance, sharpness retention and good corrosion resistance.

The handle is made of stainless steel liners and G10 scales. G10 is a is a composite material with excellent abrasion resistance, a firm grip (even in wet conditions) and a subtle but luxurious appearance.

In addition, the Sage 5 has a reversible Tip-Up carry clip and a lanyard eye.
