Zome (pronounced "zoh-may") is a classic Japanese method of textile dyeing that is closely linked to many aspects of that country's culture and history.

Inspired by this rich artistic heritage, Spyderco's Zome family includes unique, hand-colored variations of popular lightweight models with FRN handles.

The handles of these knives are first cast in a light base color, then individually dyed by expert Japanese craftsmen using a technique reminiscent of traditional hiki-zome (brush painting).

In this painstaking method, different colors of dye are hand-brushed onto the handle to create unique patterns that permeate the FRN material.
