The drop point blade is made of CPM-S30V, this steel designed in 2001 uses a specific alloy. This gives the knife high corrosion resistance without sacrificing hardness and sharpness.

The blade is finished with a Desert Verde colored Ceracoat coating. This coating is not just there for looks but Ceracoat also has a number of positive effects on the blade. It increases the wear resistance, corrosion resistance and chemical resistance of the steel.

Furthermore, bugout features an AXIS locking mechanism, this manual sliding mechanism locks the blade with the reliability you are used to from Benchmade.

The handle is made of Grivory a durable synthetic polymer. This handle not only makes the knife surprisingly light, but the molded-in pronounced pattern gives the Bugout a great grip in all weather conditions.
