Valhal Outdoor - Care and burn-in Wax for Cast Iron - 160 gr.

The Valhal Outdoor wax is made according to our own recipe in Holland and the composition of the chosen ingredients has been carefully created. The Valhal Outdoor wax is perfect for taking care of your cast iron pans and accessories, but you can also use it to burn in your cast iron items.

The wax is firm, but can be easily smeared with a sponge or cloth. Because we chose to work exclusively with natural ingredients, the wax has a beautiful natural light yellow color and you can smell a hint of beeswax.

You can apply the VH.WAX directly to your cast iron pan or accessory, but for best absorption we recommend the following steps:

1-Place your cast iron pan or accessory in the oven and preheat your oven to 175 degrees. Allow your item to heat for 20 min.*
2-While the cast iron is still hot, rub all sides with Valhal Outdoor's VH.WAX with a tea towel or kitchen paper.
3-Wipe your cast iron with another clean cloth again for a thin and even coat of wax.
4-Set your cast iron pan or accessory back in the oven at 250 degrees for 40 min. This allows polymerization of the coating. *
5-Depending on how smooth and/or greased you want your cast iron item, you can repeat this process two or three times.

* If you have the opportunity to perform these steps outside, such as in a barbecue, we recommend that you do so outside. Especially during step 4 a lot of smoke can be released.
